What's the coolest thing about Deep Impact?
The best thing about Deep Impact is that it will further our knowledge of the universe.

Why do you like working at Jet Propulsion Laboratory?
Working at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory exposes me to the latest technology. Additionally, every person I have worked with here has been very kind and helpful.

How did you end up in Aerospace?
I ended up at JPL through a summer internship program arranged by one of my professors in college.

What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time (in general) I like to read, ride motorcycles and mountain bikes.

Who in your life inspired you?
My husband is my greatest inspiration.

What is one yet-to-be achieved life goal?
My one yet-to-be achieved life goal is to have a successful career.

Were you technically/scientifically oriented as a young person?
I liked math as a child.

What was your favorite book as a young person?
I had too many favorites to choose from.

What did you want to become when you were young?
When I was really young, I wanted to be a policeman. Later, I wanted to be a veterinarian.

If you weren't working in space exploration now, what might you be doing?
Working towards an M.D.

Biographical details contained on these pages were correct during the Deep Impact mission which ended in 2006. Several scientists from Deep Impact are now working on related missions such as EPOXI and Stardust-NExT.
