Bio: Dr. Schultz, Professor at Brown University, specializes in planetary geology and impact cratering. For the Deep Impact mission, he is conducting cratering experiments in the laboratory. In addition, he is responsible for the analysis of the imaging and emission spectroscopy of the cratering process and crater to better define the material properties of the comet.
Biographical details contained on these pages were correct during the Deep Impact mission which ended in 2006. Several scientists from Deep Impact are now working on related missions such as EPOXI and Stardust-NExT.
