Gas and Dust Coma

coma through different filters

Lucy McFadden
Co-Investigator

University of Maryland, Department of Astronomy
College Park, MD

Lucy's analysis of the gas and dust coma images reveals asymmetric distributions of water, CN, C2 and dust. The C2 is enhanced in the sunward direction suggesting either a temperature dependence or a compositional asymmetry in the composition of the nucleus.
