MRI Views 47 Tucanae
Hi-Res JPEG (275 KB)
As part of the May science calibration MRI imaged 47 Tucanae (aka NGC 104), which is a bright globular cluster near the Small Magellanic Cloud. This MRI image was taken to determine where the telescope was pointed during an Infrared Red (IR) scan of the cluster. This is a logarithmic stretch so that all the dim stars are visible as well as the brightest stars.
